Excursion to Lava and Kolakham

Friends, Our first destination from New Mall Junction was Malbazar. After lunch, we headed out to the beach. To see the beauty of the road we are moving along the 31st national highway. A large garden to the right. The beautiful scenery on the way captivates us. The 15 km road from Malbazar to Garubathan is very beautiful. The Gorubathan picnic spot is one of the most famous places in the region, where many people come to picnic from the top of the mountain.

As you climb up the mountain, the roads become more spectacular. Our destination today is Lungchu, which is six kilometers from Lava and three kilometers from Kolakham. On the way we pass a small temple and a waterfall, which makes the natural beauty of the region even more enjoyable.

Coming down from the city of lava, you can see the pine forest of Neora Valley National Park. The forest is famous for its red pandas, butterflies and about 250 species of birds, making it a paradise for wildlife photographers and birdwatchers.

Leaving Lava city behind we started our journey towards Kolakham. After crossing the pine forest for six kilometres we reached Kolakham. Although this road is a little bad, but the beauty of nature has made it incomparable.

When we reached Kolakham, we saw that the car was almost approaching the homestay. But in case of small cars, you have to walk a little. The dense pine forest of Kolakham, and the surrounding environment is so beautiful that any traveler will be impressed. This trip is not only an experience, but also a unique opportunity to get acquainted with nature.

The unique experience of traveling to Lungchu, Lava, and Rishabh

On reaching Lungchu the sun hides its face on the slope of the mountain. Our destination was Skyline Retreat Lungchu Homestay, where we booked a room for four of us. The room is very beautiful, the view of Kanchenjunga from the window. 1400 per head for room rent and homestay food. Lunch consisted of rice, dal, egg curry, and other mountain foods. Atmosphere and food was very good.

On the way from Lungchu to Lava we start our journey on the way to Changhe Falls. This waterfall is located at a depth of about 700 feet and only the chirping of birds can be heard around it. The natural beauty of this route fascinated me. After that we reached Kolakham, after crossing Neora Valley National Park the view of this village enchanted us.

Arriving in the city of Lava, we visit Lava Monastery. It is located in a large area and the surrounding area is beautiful. After visiting the Lava Monastery, we visited various places of Lava, among which Lovers Point is especially significant. This place is known as the selfie point.

Then we went to the homestay, where we looked around before spending the night. There is a clear view from the room. In the month of November if the sky is clear then this scene becomes even more charming. At night we eat early and enjoy the beauty of Kanchenjunga. In the morning the light of the sun falling on the peak of Kanchenjunga creates an amazing scene.

The next morning we set out on our journey. Enjoy the wonderful view of Kanchenjunga while standing at the Tiffindara view point. Walking through the streets of Risop, the beauty of Kanchenjunga illuminated by the sun fills our mind. Then we set out on the way to Silarigaon, heart filled with the wonderful experience of mountaineering.
